Welcome to the memorial page for

Gordon L. Applegate

May 19, 1947 ~ December 18, 2016 (age 69) 69 Years Old

Gordon L. Applegate, 69, of Beloit, passed away on Sunday, December 18, 2016 at Community Care.  Gordon was born in Alliance on May 19, 1947 the son of the late Norman and Dolores (Sanderson) Applegate. He retired from General Motors where he worked for over 30 years. After he retired you could always find Gordon making his rounds around Sebring or pulling pranks on those around him. You could also hear “Lanny” calling in on WNIR Talk Radio. Gordon was naturally a social butterfly and had that loving personality where if you met him once you would always be his friend. Above all he was a loving husband, father, son, brother, grandfather and friend. He had a passion for cars, motorcycles and tractors. He was a daredevil and was out the door when someone asked him to do something before his friend could finish his idea.

Survivors include his wife Lorie (Kent) Applegate; stepmother Barbara Applegate; daughter Christina Edwards; brother Terry (Lisa) Applegate; sisters Chris (Kerry) Cochran and Carol Kline; aunt Jeanne (Applegate) Fahnert; 14 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.   Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a son Edward Wallace and an aunt Wilma Applegate.

A funeral service will take place at 4:00 PM on Friday, December 23, 2016 at Gednetz-Ruzek-Brown Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Palmer officiating. Friends may call two hours prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.
