Jerry Charles McLaughlin

Jerry Charles McLaughlin, 81 of Alliance passed away on Saturday, March 26, 2016 at Salem Regional Medical Center. Jerry was born in Alliance on January 14, 1935 the son of the late George and Mary (Kuntz) McLaughlin; he was a 1952 graduate of Alliance High School and owned and operated McLaughlin Construction from 1971 to 1992.  Mr. McLaughlin was a member of Damascus Friends Church, and was very active in “Men with Vision” missionary group, he enjoyed wood working and spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife Darylene (Wyss) McLaughlin whom he married on October 17, 1987 of Alliance, children; Daniel K. (Lori) McLaughlin of Homeworth, Kathy (John) Crish of Alliance, Mark (Christine) McLaughlin of Alliance, step-children Gary (Sharon) Davies of Homeworth, Debbie (Tom) Edling of Beloit and Jason (Janet) Bartholow of Ft. Mill, SC.  He is also survived by 20 grandchildren; Michael McLaughlin, Jeffrey (Lindsey) McLaughlin, Joshua (Leslie) McLaughlin, Kyle (Danielle) McLaughlin, Danette (Todd) Hively, Brianne Benedict, Dylan McLaughlin, Madelyn McLaughlin, Megan (Jerry) Showers, Eric (Carrie) Blymiller, Jennifer (Jerry) Parks, Tim (Amy) Davies, Christy (Jason) Hoopes, Jud Edling, Cheryl (Ryan) Ficco, Lisa (Corey) Culbertson, Jerrod Davies, Amelia, Ava and Arden Bartholow, and 17 great grandchildren.  Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife Nancy (Elliot) McLaughlin on December 1, 1985 a son Stephen Douglas McLaughlin on July 21, 1993, and a step-son Mark Florian Davies on February 23, 2014.

A Memorial service will take place at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at the Damascus Friends Church, 28857 Walnut Street, Damascus, OH 44619. In Lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made in Jerry’s honor to: Men with Vision, 3783 East State Road 18, Marion, IN 46952.
