Ray E. Heverly Jr.

Ray E. Heverly Jr. of Beloit passed away on Friday, December 30, 2016 in Cleveland Clinic- Akron City Hospital. Ray was born on July 27, 1962 in San Antonio Texas to Ray and Mary Kay (McGill) Heverly. He was a 1981 West Branch Graduate and served as a United States Marine from 1984 to 1988. Ray was a graduate of Youngstown State University and began his career in law enforcement in 1987. He was employed with the Sebring Police Department serving the last sixteen years as Chief of Police.

Ray was a member of Sebring American Legion, Sebring Masons the Alliance VFWand Berlin Lake Country Club. His interests include hunting, singing karaoke and he loved to golf. In addition, he enjoyed spending time with family, special friends but especially his grandchildren.  

Ray married Toynette (Donitzen) in 1984 and enjoyed 32 years with his loving wife. He is also survived by sons Benjamin (Ashley) Heverly of Lake Milton,OH and Donald( Tiffani) Heverly of Salem,OH; grandchildren Lane Heverly and Jemma Heverly. He is also survived by brothers John  Heverly of New York, Chris Heverly of Ravenna and Shawn (Barb) Heverly of Salem. Ray was preceded in death by grandparents John and Lois McGill and Fred and Florence Heverly.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday January 4, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Damascus Methodist Church with a Masonic service to be held at 5 PM. Funeral services  for Ray will be held on Thursday January 5, 2017 at 11 AM at the church with Pastor Vernon Palo officiating. Burial will take place at Damascus Cemetery following the service.
