Richard "Dick" E. Myers

Richard “Dick” E. Myers, 76 of Deerfield passed away at University Hospital in Ravenna on Wednesday November 30, 2016. Dick was born in Gettysburg, PA on July 20, 1940 the son of the late Everett and Mabel (Guise) Myers; he was a US Army veteran and worked at Ravenna Arsenal and T&W Forge until his retirement and then worked as a custodian at the Atwater Town Hall. Mr. Myers was a member of Truth Baptist Church in Atwater. He was also a member of the Charity Masonic Lodge #530; enjoyed working on cars attending car shows, drag racing and tractor pulls but most important to him was spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years Helen (White) Myers whom he married on February 14, 1965. Two daughters; Sheila (Mark) Herold of Sebring, Lisa Myers of Deerfield, 3 grandchildren Lucas Herold, Richard M. Myers, Hannah Herold and a great granddaughter Allianna Myers. He is also survived by a brother Mervin (Becky) Myers, three sisters; Helen (Jim) Hockley, Ruth L. Beam, Linda (Mike) Moose all of Pennsylvania and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will take place on Friday, December 9, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Gednetz-Ruzek-Brown Funeral Home with Pastor Roy Teague officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home from 12-1PM. A Masonic Service will be held at 1:00PM just prior to the service. Burial will take place in Deerfield Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the Salem Honor Guard.
