Robert Lee Rambo, 71 of Salem, passed away on Saturday May 2, 2015 at Essex II of Salem.  Robert was born in East Palestine, Ohio on May 27, 1943 the son of the late Wilbur and Mildred (Mansell) Rambo. He was a graduate of East Palestine High School and served in the US Air Force during Vietnam.  Mr. Rambo worked as a core maker for Crane-Deming retiring in 1977 for health reasons.  He was a member of the Columbiana County Genealogy Society where he had served as president, Columbiana County Archeology Society and the National Rifle Association.  Robert was a past member of the Salem City Masonic Lodge, Youngstown Scottish Rite and Al Koran Shrine. He liked to spend time outdoors, enjoying nature and the birds, collecting Indian artifacts and shooting clubs.

 Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Bonnie (Cummings) of Salem whom he married on August 2, 1969; two daughters Rachelle Witherspoon of Salem, Shannon Rambo of Ohio; five grandchildren, Corey, James, Stephanie, Emma, Arieanna; three great grandchildren, Isaac, Corbin, and Jayde.  He is also survived by three sisters, Martha Mackall of Maryland, Jean Rapp of Columbiana, and Peg Howell of Ashland.  Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers James and John.

            His funeral service will take place at 12:00 PM on Tuesday May 5, 2015, officiated by Pastor Gerald Baker at East Goshen Friends Church.  Friends may call the hour prior to the service at the church.  Memorial contributions may be made in Robert’s honor to East Goshen Friends Church 16800 South Range Rd., Beloit, OH 44609.  Interment will be in East Goshen Cemetery with military honors provided by the Salem Honor Guard.  Friends and family may sign the guest register online at www.brownfhonline.com.  Arrangements are by Brown Funeral Home, Salem, OH (330) 337-6363.
