Donna Jean (Fronk) Dunn Slutz

Donna Jean (Fronk) Dunn Slutz, of Winona, passed away Tuesday afternoon, January 14, 2020 at University Hospital in Cleveland following a short illness. She was 80.

Born in Salem, May 29, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Nellie (Peppel) Fronk. A lifetime resident of the area, Donna was a member of the Salem High School Class of 1957 and also a member of the Winona United Methodist Church, where she served on many different committees. She had an in-home daycare to numerous children for 30 years and was also the custodian to the Winona United Methodist Church for 19 years until her retirement in 2016. Donna also taught Sunday School and Jr. Church for over 50 years and touched the lives of hundreds of children in the church.

Donna married Richard S. Dunn on May 18, 1958. Together, they ran a sheep and egg farm in Winona with their four children. Donna enjoyed planting and maintaining her numerous flower beds around her house, I Love Lucy, numerous British Comedies and sweet tea.

Donna is survived by her second husband, Gerald Slutz, who she reconnected with after 58 years and married on October 29, 2016. She is also survived by her children, Pamela (Jeffrey) Corll, Glen (Lori) Dunn, Shelley (John) Arsuffi and Craig (Terri) Dunn, seven grandchildren, Benjamin (Stacy) Corll, Adam (Deanna) Corll, Emily (Jeffrey) Dale, Hannah (John) Crogan, Eli (Katie) Dunn, Cody Dunn and Allison Dunn. She is also survived by 6 great grandchildren, who called her GG, Maggie Jean, Trenton, Emmaline, Paisley, Braylin and Silas. Donna is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and stepdaughter and friend Karen Turner. In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by her husband of 38 years, Richard S. Dunn. on September 25, 1996 and siblings Russell, Hilda and Merle.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 20, 2020 at Brown Funeral Home in Salem at 11:00 AM with Pastor Bill Fish officiating. A time of visitation will take place on Sunday, January 19, 2020 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Woodsdale Cemetary.
