Margaret Louise (Stayton) Boyer

Margaret L. (McCartney) Boyer, age 95, of Salem passed away at Salem Regional Medical Center on September 2, 2018. Margaret was born in Salem, Ohio on February 7, 1923 to the late William and Genevive (Long) Stayton. She was a 1941 graduate of Goshen High School and was a homemaker. She enjoyed puzzles, sewing, reading, crosswords and could always be found coloring in her adult coloring books.

Margaret is survived by children Barbara (Harley) Barker of California, Janet (Gary) Smith of Deerfield, OH., Roberta (David) Morrison of Erie, PA., Marsha Marino of Salem, OH., David Israel of Salem, OH, Bill (Nancy) McCartney of Sebring,OH Kathy (Leo) Amel of Rogers,OH Mark Boyer of CO, and Sandy Boyer of AL. She is also survived by multiple grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren as well as three brothers; William Stayton of CA, Robert Stayton of NV and Gerald Stayton of WA. She was also survived be her beloved dog Odie. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband William McCartney in 1985, her second husband Glenn Boyer in 2004, and a daughter Glenda. The family would like to send a special thank you to Adult Home Care and especially her Aid Amy.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 7, 2018 at 12:00 PM at Brown Funeral Home in Salem with James Kurt speaking. Visitation will be held the hour prior to the service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Highland Memorial Park.
