Mary "Betty" E. (Snellbaugh) Palovich

Mary Elizabeth “Betty” (Snellbaugh) Palovich, 80 of Columbiana passed away at St. Elizabeth Hospital on November 10, 2018. Betty was born in New York on June 24, 1938 the daughter of the late Joseph and Eva (Topp) Snellbaugh. She was a 1955 graduate of North High School and Youngstown College. Betty worked as an Elementary teacher in the Boardman School District before her children were born and after their birth she worked as a Floral Designer at East Hill Florist and a Saleswoman at Strouss and Kaufmans Department Stores. She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Salem, a former member of the Hubbard Garden Club, she enjoyed playing cards, flower arranging, and going out to lunch with her classmates from North High School. However one of her most important things to do was spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Mary is survived by four daughters; Laura (Chris) Palovich-Binder of Columbus, Rebecca (Michael) Chabo of Brandywine, Maryland, Pamela (James) Connolly of Hubbard and Karen (David) Bates of Columbiana. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; Micah Chabo, Eli Chabo, Michael West, Justin West, Jessica Baird, Danielle Schneider, Carl Bates, Olyvia Bates, Jarod Bates, and eleven great grandchildren. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Ivan J. Palovich in 2016 and a grandson Steven West.

A mass of Christian burial will take place on Thursday, November 15, 2018 at 12:30 PM at St. Paul Catholic Church with Fr. Robert Edwards officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Burial will take place at Union Cemetery in Hubbard.
